Otoplasty (Ear Surgery)
Oversized or protruding ears can be easily corrected through surgery. Most ear surgery patients are children whose parents are concerned about teasing at school, but many adults also choose to have their ears altered.

By removing and/or reshaping the ear's cartilage as needed, the doctor can alter the size, shape, and projection of the ears to make them fit the head and face. Adult otoplasty patients are typically able to return to work within a few days of surgery; children need to spend about a week at home recovering. The results of surgery are immediately visible, but full healing sometimes takes several weeks.
